This September, Mike Carpino Ford is excited to once again be partnering with Labette County Emergency Assistance Center to help stock the shelves for our community!

Our goal is simple: Fill a Ford with at least 400 pounds of nonperishable food!

Help Us Fill the Ford

Throughout September, we’re collecting unopened, unexpired, nonperishable food items at Mike Carpino Ford.

The Labette County Emergency Assistance Center can distribute a wide variety of pantry staples, but some items are especially difficult for them to keep in stock, including:

- Peanut butter

- Jelly

- Macaroni & Cheese

- Ramen noodles

- Canned soup

- Canned meat

- Spaghetti sauce with meat

- Shelf stable or powdered milk

- Canned vegetables

One item, one bag or a whole cart, we’ll take it! Every donation helps us reach our goal and make a real difference.

How Mike Carpino Ford Is Giving Back

We’re committed to making every sale and service visit count throughout September

$100 for Every Vehicle Sold

For every vehicle sold at Mike Carpino Ford Parsons during September, we’ll donate $100 to the Labette County Emergency Assistance Center.

And since the Center is able to purchase food through the Kansas Food Bank at reduced prices, these donated dollars can go even further toward keeping its pantry stocked.

Round Up for a Reason

Service customer will have the opportunity to round up their service bill, with the additional amount going towards our contribution to the Labette County Emergency Assistance Center.

A few cents or a few dollars at a time can add up quickly when our community comes together.

We’re collecting nonperishable food items that will help support Wesley House Food Pantry and our neighbors.

Meet the Labette County Emergency Assistance Center

For more than 25 years, the Labette County Emergency Assistance Center has been helping neighbors throughout Labette County during times of crisis and hardship.

The Center serves any Labette County resident in need and provides much more than food assistance. Its services include emergency shelter assistance, hygiene items and diapers, prescription assistance, rental and utility assistance, resource referrals, USDA commodities and more.

As the cost of everyday necessities continues to affect local households, the Center says it has seen an increase in working families seeking assistance who do not qualify for SNAP benefits.

The impact of Labette County Emergency Assistance Center

- In 2025 alone, the Center has:

- Distributed approximately 102,210 pounds of food

- Helped 5,035 individuals in Labette County with food insecurity

- Provided $43,985.75 in utility assistance

- Provided $11,399 in rental assistance

- Provided $3,069.54 in emergency shelter assistance

Today, the Center serves approximately 420 individuals each month through its food assistance program.

Food pantry bags are designed to provide approximately five days of meals, with the amount distributed determined by household size. Families also receive three different frozen meat products with each food appointment when available.

Making Every Dollar Count

The Center purchases many of its nonperishable foods through the Kansas Food Bank at significantly reduced prices.

For households of one to two people, the nonperishable portion of a typical food package costs the Center an average of just $25.40.

By purchasing food at reduced costs, monetary donations can stretch further and help the Center provide more food to more local families.

The impact of Fill a Ford isn’t hypothetical. Our community saw it firsthand in 2025

As requests for assistance increased and pantry shelves began getting bare, the food collected through Fill a Ford helped the Center continue serving our community.
